• Protection: Dr. Bobbio will apply a barrier like a rubber dam or special coating painted onto your gums to protect them from the whitening gel. 

• Whitening: The dentist will then apply the whitening gel to your teeth. She will then use the Zoom light and direct it toward your teeth to enhance the action of the whitening agent. This light-activated gel penetrates the enamel and dentin in your teeth to remove deep stains and discoloration.

• Rinsing: After only 15-20 minutes, the gel is removed and your teeth are rinsed. This process can be repeated 2 or 3 times within the same appointment, depending on the level of whitening you want to achieve. 

• Finishing Touches: Once the final rinse is complete, Dr. Bobbio may apply a fluoride paste-gel to your teeth to reduce sensitivity.
